Speartooth Makes European Debut with German Sale

C2 Robotics, and its European partner Eurobotics GmbH, has marked a significant milestone with the Speartooth Large Uncrewed Undersea Vehicle (LUUV) being sold to Germany. Supporting this announcement for the Australian owned company was The Hon Pat Conroy MP – Minister for Defence Industry, at C2 Robotics’ Melbourne HQ today.

Building on the recent US sales announcement, these further international sales highlight a growing interest amongst discerning military buyers of Speartooth’s emerging dominance as the markets Large Undersea Vehicle of choice.

“We are excited to be working with Eurobotics to deliver Speartooth to our NATO allies’” said Troy Duggan, CEO of C2 Robotics. “NATO countries have recognised that their strategic situation has become increasingly uncertain and protection of Sea Lines of Communication are not optional – but essential to maintaining sovereignty and rules based order”, Duggan said.
“Speartooth is built on the principle of ‘Small, Smart, Many’— and today’s announcement highlights that NATO countries are increasingly shifting to this mantra,” said Eurobotics Chief Operating Officer – Lars Zander.

The Speartooth LUUV has been designed to deliver scalable, cost-effective undersea capability across intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and strike missions. Its smaller size and lower unit cost enable it to operate in contested environments and generate force mass in ways that traditional platforms cannot.

Three critical contexts have converged to make the Uncrewed Undersea Vehicle market explode in popularity. Military experts have increasingly highlighted that undersea operations remain the last domain of stealth, acknowledging the rapid expansion of space, air and land based ISR assets over the battlefield.

Recent conflicts have also recognised that autonomous systems are not just contributing to the effort – they are becoming the main effort, with more expensive crewed systems transitioning into lower risk or niche roles.

Finally, western submarine construction is faltering. Excruciatingly long contractual, development and construction timelines are causing cost blowouts and reduced numbers. Increasing sustainment costs and maintenance overheads are also reducing availability – creating capability gaps.

Today’s announcement also formally represents C2 Robotics’ exclusive partnership with Eurobotics GmbH as both an agent and manufacturing partner in Germany to support wider NATO and European sales.

With more allies considering Speartooth, the ability to share payloads and payload development not only reduces capability timelines, but it also increases mission roles and cost efficiencies.
